Getting out from the Cage

I pity those who, when times of attending certain occasions or parties have to ask permissions from their husbands or wives. As this has really been what married people should do, or else they get into trouble if they just freak out. Good for those who are still on their singleness as they could easily throw themselves into somewhere anytime they want. However, it’s not actually the point of whether they are married or single though there may be advantages, but it is the value of their presence to the one hosted the invitation. Aside from that, it may also give a little freedom to those who have thought have been for long time a prisoner of their own life, because they can take advantage of the event to while away from household chores, responsibilities at home and work, and all other stressors.

Couples should take into consideration, especially those partners who may have strong conviction of not allowing their husbands or wives to socialize once in a blue moon. Availability to take care of their children is of course an important reason to say no to an invitation. But on the other hand, they can otherwise bring along with them their family if they think their attendance is essential. That would I think justify both situations.

I just happen to have a chit chat with a friend who is now I think happily married with 3 kids. Every time we have an invitation from our other friends and colleagues she is available, but has to get home on the time she and her husband have agreed on. Though she gets envy of the other who could spend more time with the event, but she has nothing to do with it but to follow rules and agreements. What I like about her is that she could find time to at least spend her time with all the invitations she get, no matter how much fun she will miss. To her, having her time shared with the group is more than enough though always limited, but the feeling she get from the company, the talks and laughter would at least take her out from the cage once in a while.

The photo was taken during Cecille’s vacation in Bohol. She really has the charm to have us gathered despite of all the schedules and responsibilities we have. We had so much fun and laughter and spent our time until midnight. Standing form left to right are of course yours truly, Abigail, Thea, Mac, Sherwin, Aprilyn, Lea, Sharon and Rhoda. While sitting from right to left are melody with son Matt, Jumbo, Ligory, Cecille and Rowena. Jacob came late so he's not visible in the photo. Rowena's hubby and Sherwin's wife were also there.
